SMGN-1378 POST WAR Naval Dagger by Horster

A fantastic dagger with a mint condition sailing ship motif blade! The entire dagger was at some point coated with a lacquer, which, love it or hate it, it really did a good job at protecting the gilding on the whole piece. The gilding is nearly 100% with just a few spots down to brass on the scabbard that i can see. The only real downside is the coating is also on the grip and grip wire.  It gives the grip a “wet” look which isn’t what we would normally expect to see. This could be removed with some patience, I think. The portepee is in very nice shape as well. This bad boy is a real looker and tough to upgrade if you can get past the Lacquer on the grip.
