SMGO-0476 Police Officer Degan With Replaced Holler blade

Well this sword became a learning opportunity for me as it was pointed out that Holler would not have this type of D guard, Darkened scabbard knot design or SS “proof” marks. So we can deduct that the parts are original but the blade must have been in poor condition and replaced at some time. When? We will never know. But if you are looking for a very attractive Police sword at a great price, this is a great opportunity since it is significantly cheaper than a perfectly correct sword.

A fantastic police sword here with a stunning 33in matte satin blade in high carbon steel! The blade is about as good as you will find with only the faintest signs of oxidation or wear! The F,W. Holler Stamp is clean and well pronounce. The scabbard is dent free and has the original paint job. The plated steel fittings look great with only some minor signs of oxidation. The throat is SS proofed as well as the underside of the D guard. The D guard, pommel and ferrule are all plated steel with minor signs of oxidation. The eagle is the desirable copper type that was silver frosted at some point. The black lacquered grip shows some finish loss but has no major damage or chips. Really, a fantastic condition sword overall.
