Description
This is one of two identical period copies that came from the family of 2nd LT B-17 Bombardier Richard Fetter. Fetter was assigned to the 92nd Bombardment Group (H) Army Air Forces on August 25th 1944. He survived the war and completed 35 Bombing missions over Europe including Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden, Nurmburg, Cologne and many others. He was awarded the Air Medal with 5 Oakleaf Clusters. A digital scan of his 35 bombing runs with dates and award documents can be had upon request, the originals will remain in a private collection. The copy has the copied signature of Dwight T. Robinson Major, AGD Assistant Adjutant General and also says “By Command of Brigadier General Koenig” The date is right after Germany surrendered.
