Description

A rare maker listed as an 8 out of 10 on McSarr! Voos  made quality daggers, and this one is no exception. the blade shows the typical fine Voos cross graining. There are some oxidation spots but nothing too distracting. There is light runner wear and light scuffs on the edge, looks like possibly an attempt to put a sharper edge on it? Tough to say as its just barely visible and no major damage was done. All this considered, it’s still a very nice blade. The solid nickel guards show clean hand enhancing and the lower is Nm marked which is correct for this maker. The grip is a nice dark red with good guard to grip fit. A little gap on the left side top and bottom but well within reason. The scabbard is the proper anodized type for this era with nickel fittings and a nickel hanger. The leather is in good condition and not brittle. The scabbard shell is dent free with some light finish loss. The ball end fitting is dented, a common problem with these daggers. The blade is a little sticky in the scabbard and there is a small gap in regard to the throat meeting the lower guard. I assume this is from when it was dropped, damaging the ball end and also pushing up the led weight in the bottom. This movement in the weight would cause the misalignment at the guard and make the dagger stick a bit. These are all forgivable issues in my opinion if you are on the hunt for this hard-to-find maker.
