Description

This is a pretty cool sword for a few reasons. First, the pattern I’m not familiar with an if anyone knows shoot me an email. It might be a generic dove head that was custom ordered with the Heer Eagle on the shield. Eagles on shields are nothing new in the sword trade. Most were either part of the brass casting or they were hand chiseled into a plain shield. This one is neither. It’s a separate eagle, likely supplied by a company that makes this eagle in stick pin form. It was soldered on and then the whole thing was finished in gilt. So, it is surely a factory produced sword. The entire thing is brass with hand carved oak leaves and other embellishments. On the opposite side we see the Owners initials “KK”, which is a nice bonus to have on any sword.  The grip wire is a little loose in places but not bad overall. The black celluloid handle is in crack free condition. The blade length is just under 31″. The blade is chromed and in great shape with only some minor runner marks and some very small areas of oxidation. No dings on the edge. A 8.5 out of 10 in my book. The scabbard is dent free and has most of the black paint intact. It’s possible it was repainted many years ago but it’s hard to tell. It has an average amount of wear.  It’s a nice sword overall and likely not a pattern in your collection.
