SMGL-2760 * Second Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Horster

A very fine late period dagger with typical late period wood/plaster filled celluloid grip. These later ones often time have issues due the lower quality parts, but this one is really tops with no cracks, grip fitment issues or anything. The pommel screws on firmly and is not loose and is easy to center. The blade is awesome as well with no major dings or edge issues. There are some faint signs of surface oxidation which is typical. However, there is no current oxidation and the blade rates very high. an 8 out of 10 all day. The etched Horster logo looks great as well. the cross graining is still present which is great to see as well. The scabbard is fantastic as well, showing some wear to the multi process finish coat on it. The multi-step process is likely why this scabbard has not oxidized badly over the years like other steel scabbards we see. It looks like the steel base metal was brass plated, then silver then airplane grey. The hanger bands are aluminum which is common.
