SMGL-2577 Manfred Schönfelder Signature x2 knights cross winner

(1912 – 1983) Obersturmbannführer in the Waffen-SS during World War II on the staff of the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking. He was awarded the Knight’s Cross. During fighting at the Cherkassy pocket, Schonfelder prevented the loss of the entire division’s artillery, which enabled them to hold out for a further 24 hours and then made it possible for the division to withdraw over the rough terrain. Two signed pieces including an S.P., 3.5 x 5.5 b/w, a pose in uniform signed across his chest, along with an A.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Stuttgart, 1972, in German and not translated.

A good 2 for one value for a signature that currently is hard to find on the market.
