Description
A rare Wehrmann SA RZM tagged m43 style hat. Includes nicely secured Austrian style Edelweiss and gently worn pink Sudmark Trapezoid. There is some light soiling on the underside of the bill and some sweat stains in the cotton liner but really minty outside of that. Size marked 53.
On “19.01.1939”, “Adolf Hitler” decided to create the “SA-Wehrmannschaft”, this organization would have the aim of training the male population between the ages of 16 and 65 in military preparation. These men were part of the classes that could not be mobilized for the “Wehrmacht”.
The “SA-Wehrmannschaft” played mainly the same role as the units of the “Landwehr” or “Landsturm” during the Great War. Namely:
– To secure the sectors newly conquered by the “Wehrmacht”.
– Train the “Hajot” for military training in Germany or in the occupied regions (Alsace/Moselle and Luxembourg).
However, some units of the “SA-Wehrmannschaft” hunted down communist partisans in Yugoslavia from 1941 to 1944.
