SMGN-1600 DLV Flyer’s Knife by SMF

This was a project for someone, and it was never fully restored. They wire wheeled the whole scabbard it looks like. So, there is no leather on the scabbard and it is missing the lower fitting. The upper fitting is missing the loop for the hanger screws are kaput. The throat is DLV marked. Your best bet might be to just find a new scabbard if one pops up. The blade shows some aggressive sanding likely to remove some rust. The cross guard isn’t too bad but does show evidence of abrasive cleaning. I think the same of the pommel. The leather has some wear spots but overall, it’s not too bad. The guard is also K stamped. So, this is an opportunity to add an inexpensive DLV to your collection if you just have never wanted to spend big money on one.
