Slot brooch, excellent condition with minor wear and oxidation. Richard Elder was from Broome County NY and was killed on December 4th, 1944, by a “Traumatic event” in Durboslar Germany. Durboslar is a small-town Northeast of Achen and about 20 miles west of Cologne. So he likely died in the taking of the town before they went on to Cologne and the famous March 1945 battle there. Elder was a private serving in the 29th Infantry Division, 115th regiment, Company 1. Included is a photocopy of research done on him as acquired.
