SMGN-0765 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Horster

If you like that really clean look with the bright swastika against the white metal, you can’t be the aluminum first models. The finish holds up great and when perfect, they look like they were made yesterday. This one is a great example with consistent and minor wear throughout. The leather on the grip and scabbard show equal wear and not attempts were made over the years to darken the lighter spots of wear. The aluminum fittings shows some light wer and scratches on all parts. The blade has a tiny wave to the tip and some dings on the edges on the last half of the dagger toward the tip. The scabbard chain is missing the larger aluminum links that attach to the scabbard, not sure what happened to them. Maybe a GI was annoyed with the chain and removed it? This could be a collector attempted replacement.  The blade is oxidation free and shows only minor runner wear and scratches. Over all, a nice quality example with some character. A good option if you are looking to stay under $1,000 for a decent one.
