SMGO-0213 NSFK Flyers Knife by Helbig

A beautiful dagger here with a desirable crackle finish that holds up WAY better than leather! The all aluminum fittings are in great shape. There are a few tool marks on the pommel. I think someone tried to use a set of pliers to take it off, realized it was a bad idea and gave up. There is no evidence of any structural problems from this. The throat of the scabbard is NSFK stamped as you would expect. The blade is very nice with some light wer and spotting. An 8 out of 10 for me. The big winner for me is the Helbig logo is still very dark and legible. Most Helbig daggers have only a trace amount of the logo legible. This is due to Helbig using a very light etch that can easily be polished off to look lie a faded whisper of a logo. The scabbard screws and brass with no evidence of being turned. The scabbard is missing the leather hanger however. The scabbard seems to stop about 1/32th of an inch from the leather.   A really nice dagger that is near mint and a pleasure to examine.
