The Germans arguably had the largest and most detailed collar tab and shoulder board system. The basics of this area of collecting can be easy to follow. The amount of regulation and design changes combine with an almost infinite amount of units and specialty corps can really send you down a rabbit hole. Many collectors never come out of this hole and it becomes their full time collecting obsession.
